Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
As part of our commitment to addressing barriers to academic success, we have implemented a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). MTSS is a framework for how all the systems in a school work together to ensure that each and every student receives a high quality educational experience and includes not only academics, but social/emotional learning, behavior, and mental health.
Who Gets Support?
All students at NCCA participate in the MTSS process, which is embedded in the school’s instructional model. Students who have academic or other needs are identified using data such as EOG/EOCs, prior course performance, and results from our universal screener, the i-Ready Diagnostic. Identified students may be eligible for additional support beyond core instruction.
Overview
If you have concerns about your child’s progress in school, contact your child’s teachers and request a conference to discuss strategies for addressing your concerns. This conference may include a discussion about the need for differentiated core instruction or additional support and interventions available through our MTSS process. Parents concerned about their child’s progress toward goals on their IEP should contact the EC case manager to request an IEP meeting to review the current services being provided.
